DESCRIPTION: UDL Principles are a set of guidelines and checkpoints that can help you reach each student. The three primary principles of Engagement, Representation, and Action & Expression help you redefine your teaching practice by proactively planning for variability and removing barriers to learning. This session will provide an in-depth dive into what this looks like for your practice and provide opportunities to plan and create activities to reach your learners through implementable strategies.

Review and discuss the UDL principles of Engagement, Representation, and Action & Expression
Examine and translate the UDL guidelines and checkpoints for your practice
Experiment with the creation of UDL inspired lessons and assignments

Join the IESE Network for the annual special education summit specifically designed to meet the needs of special educators, paraprofessionals, administrators, and related service personnel as we begin the 2025-2026 school year. The Summit promises to provide opportunities to come together to learn, share, grow, and connect. Summit activities will include a keynote speaker and the ability to choose sessions specific to your needs, gaining insight into the latest research-based strategies and tips you can apply to support students with disabilities in the classroom.
